Chanda and Ganesha to fight it out

There's a reason to celebrate even though Deepavali is long gone. This time it's two big Kannada films that are a cause for celebration.

One is Chanda directed by S Narayan featuring leading actor Vijay and the other is Ganesha directed by Dinesh Baboo with Jaggesh and Anant Nag in the lead. Both these films are releasing this week.

If excessive hype and media glare is the only consideration, then Chanda stands head and shoulder above Ganesha. That is only because of the controversy regarding the release of Chanda -- a year-long ban on Vijay by the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce.

But it does not mean that Ganesha is a push over. The film boasts of an impressive lineup of talented actors like Jaggesh and Anant Nag -- who are teaming up for the first time.

The director too, Dinesh Baboo has directed some memorable films like Suprabhatha, Amruthavarshini, Hendthige Helbedi, Hendthige Helthini and Nishabdha.

So both the films are a must see.
