The film flopped in the first week of its release because it was marketted as an action film, with elaborate stunt sequences from Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty.

But by the next week, the word spread that Paresh Rawal had done brilliantly, and the film had, in fact, more comedy than action.

Paresh played a bechara husband, caught in a bad marriage, who's best friend seems to be his son-in-law, Aftab Shivdasani.
