But keen as he is to get back to school, a mysterious creature, Dobby the house elf, appears at Privet Drive and warns Harry now to go back to Hogwarts, where he says evil is afoot.
A hilarious incident later, he is imprisoned in his room by his aunt and uncle, only to be rescued by the Weasleys (Ron and his elder brothers Fred and George, the indomitable twins) in a flying car, no less.
The rest of the vacation is spent at the dilapidated but delightful Weasley house. The Weasleys are poor but huge-hearted, and Harry feels completely at home.
And he returns to -- rather, crashes into -- Hogwarts not on the train, but in the car.
