Dil Chahta Hai
Directed by Farhan Akhtar, this film was a hit both in India and overseas.
Stylish and cosmopolitan, it tells the story of three friends, and their different views on life, and love in particular -- Akash (Aamir Khan) was the cynic,
Sameer (Saif Ali Khan), the romantic and Siddharth or Sid, (Akshaye Khanna), the 'serious' sort.
The second half of the film moved to Sydney, and it seemed to be the perfect place for Akash's love for Preity Zinta's character to blossom.
The film's style also extended to the music, by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, which many fans thought was fresh and different.
