Will the Vishnu-Narayan magic work again in Sirivantha?

September 27, 2006
Their latest offering is Sirivantha, once again for noted producer Rockline Venkatesh. Rockline Productions is among the most prestigious production houses in the Kannada film industry, and its films have always stood out for high production values.

Releasing on September 28, Sirivantha has already been shown to a few celebrities in the political, literary and film fraternity. According to the buzz, it is a certified hit. The film is about an idealist newspaper editor, who even confronts his children. While he is alive, he has to bear humiliation at the hands of his own family. They realise his value only after his death.

It was a very challenging role for Vishnu," says Narayan. "And, as expected, he has come out with an excellent performance. I think we should write powerful roles for him. I was bowled over by his work even while I was directing it. I cannot think of any other actor who can deliver such a fantastic performance."

Dr Vishnuvardhan returns the compliment. "Narayan is essentially a very good writer," he says. "It is because of his literary background and the ability to narrate emotional sequences that a film works, and you will see him at his literary best in this film. A man with such passion for films cannot make any mistakes. As a director, he has this uncanny ability to get the best out of all artists and technicians."
