When Sunidhi Chauhan interviewed Kunal Ganjawala

Sunidhi: It is amazing Kunal, how time flies. Just a few years back, when I had started doing fairly well, then too we used to meet at recording studios. You would be in a group to record the backing vocals.

Your voice used to stand out then as well. No one must have thought Bheege honth would become such a big hit. I'm sure you too must not have thought everything would change for you with this song. But you deserved it! You had been singing so well for so long, you deserved it a long time back.

Kunal: Yes, thank you so much. We started with Ranjit Barot, where he started this concept of backing vocals in Hindi films.

Kunal: I have taken formal training from Bharti Vidhya Bhawan but my biggest teacher has been by listening to Lataji, Ashaji, Rafiji and Kishoreda. Such versatility, such control! If you have passion for something and are honest about it, this is the time to establish oneself. I don't really think it is necessary to have a musical lineage.

Sunidhi: True. Believe me, when I started singing, I had to listen to things like if you cannot pick this note, then you are not a singer. Range has no connection to singing. If you sing well, you sing well.

Kunal: Very true. It is a gift, an inborn thing. Like the colour of your skin, your voice is a gift.
