When Sunidhi Chauhan interviewed Kunal Ganjawala

Sunidhi: Kunal, I would like to ask you, your Bheege honth tere, the super duper hit, it is a surprise that such a soft ballad, a beautiful romantic song, is such a big hit in these times of fast songs. Tell us about it.

Kunal: This was in Diwali 2003. It is such a nostalgic moment that every time I share it, I feel it is the first time I am talking about it. We recorded this on Laxmi pooja day with Anuji (Anu Malik) at Krishna Studio.

I got a call in the morning that we have to record it in the evening. Our old building was to be brought down and a new tower was to come up in its place. It was going to be our last Diwali in the house where I was staying at that time, in a joint family setup.

I requested Anuji if we could record it the next morning. Anuji said don't tell me later, this song will change your life. He believed that and convinced everyone else who was linked with the film. I know he requested Mukeshji (Bhatt, the producer) that Kunal should sing this song.

If Anuji had not put his foot down and if he had not stood up for me, I don't think this song would have happened for me.

I was given only half an hour to learn the song and sing it. Some other song had to be recorded after that. It was heavy, very tough.

Anuji made me sing it in one take. I requested Anuji for a second take, but he said no.

Sunidhi: Yes, he always does that.
