Britney SpearsSuper Bowl Sunday was sensational in more than one way.

After Janet Jackson's breast-baring on American television on February 1, producers MTV seem to have put on their safety shoes.

According to a report on CNN, MTV has moved six of pop star Britney Spears' music videos to the late night shift from their daytime slots, including her new single, Toxic.

She added that MTV has informed other record labels whose videos have been shifted to night programming (10 pm to 6 am). These include alternative rock bands like Blink 182, Maroon 5, and rapster Incubus (their Megalomaniac video shows an Adolf Hitler character with angel wings flying over a crowd).

An MTV spokesperson told CNN, 'We always take into account what the cultural environment is on an ongoing basis. Given the particular sensitivity in the culture right now, we're erring on the side of caution for the immediate future."

The spokesperson made it clear that this move was not in response to pressure from Viacom Inc, following widespread public disapproval and a federal inquiry over the Jackson incident. MTV had issed an apology saying that the stunt was not planned. Justin Timberlake, who ripped open Jackson's costume, as well as Jackson herself have apologised on air for the incident.

Meanwhile, Incubus guitarist Mike Einziger issued a statement saying, "It's ironic that this MTV scrutiny comes from an incident where someone bared their chest in public while, for the first time, our singer has his shirt on for an entire video."
