Last year saw Amitabh Bachchan loot banks in Kaante and Aankhen; play shrink to dons in Hum Kisise Kum Nahin and perform miracles in Agni Varsha. This year too saw a lot of Big B with three films, Armaan, Boom and Baghban.

Here’s profiling AB, who occupies fifth position on the Bollywood's Best Actor, 2003 list. Hrithik Roshan rules the top. Salman Khan settles for the second, Shah Rukh Khan third and Saif Ali Khan, the fourth.

Armaan was a special film for AB since he was working under a woman director, Honey Irani, for the first time. Also Anil Kapoor, who played his screen son in Ramesh Sippy’s Shakti, played his adopted son in Armaan as well.

AB had a brief role in the film, but his optimistic and sincere Dr Siddharth Sinha turned out to be the best thing about this otherwise half-baked emotional drama. Armaan was a cold turkey at the box-office.
