Pinjar has been shot in Amritsar, Punjab, and Mumbai.

The film marks the second venture of art director Muneesh Sappel and director Chandra Prakash Dwivedi, after their popular period television serial Chanakya. Pinjar is also Dwivedi's first feature film as a director.

Sappel has worked in films like Chitrath Singh's Shaheed Udham Singh, Suneel Darshan's Jaanwar and Kalpana Lajmi's Daman. Besides Pinjar, he is also working on Ravindra Peepat's Kash Aap Hamare Hote. "I usually do one tough project and one easy one," says Sappel. "Since Kash was mostly shot in Canada, I did not have to do much there -- Canada is such a beautiful country!"
