S S Yang to be new Hyundai India MD

March 17, 2005 18:12 IST
Less than a year after taking charge, Hyundai Motor (India) managing director Byung-Ho Sung is on his way out and would be replaced by S S Yang from the company's China division.

Sung, who came to India in August last year, will be heading for the company's headquarters in Korea to head its steel division, sources said in New Delhi.

"The changes take place from the beginning of next month," the sources said. They insisted that it was a "routine transfer" and nothing much should be read into it.

The South Korean auto giant operates a fully-owned subsidiary in India whereas it operates in China through a joint venture.
