To provide seamless travel between India and the UK, Air Sahara and British Airways on Thursday entered into a pact to synchronise flight schedules, launch joint fare products and decided to explore ways to have a codeshare agreement in the future.
The two airlines "have agreed to evaluate schedules, routes, flights, ground services and their frequent flyer programmes to identify opportunities to add value to the customers", top officials of the two carriers told reporters.
Air Sahara president Ronojoy Dutta and British Airways commercial director Martin George said they were also exploring the potential for codeshare opportunities, subject to government approvals, in the three months.
However, Dutta said the two airlines would compete on routes like London-Delhi where Air Sahara has planned to operate this winter.
The BA official also said the British carrier had plans to increase frequencies between UK and India by "more than 100 per cent", besides launching a new route between Bangalore and Heathrow.
