Buoyed by growth in the cola drink segment, Rasna on Thursday announced Rs 10 crore (Rs 100 million) investment in setting up two more plants for manufacturing the cola product.
"We have decided to set up two more plants to meet the increasing demand of our cola product. We plan to spend around Rs 10 crore on the new plants to triple our capacity...the plants would be situated somewhere in the northern region," Piruz Khambatta, chairman of Rasna, said in New Delhi.
Rasna recently launched Rasna Cola Cola and claims to have logged sales of 15 crore (150 million) glasses in the last 30 days. The company is targetting to sell 100 crore (1000 million) glasses of Cola Cola during 2004-05.
Rasna currently sells 200 crore (2000 million) glasses of soft drink concentrates across various flavours, including 50 crore (500 million) glasses of exports. The product is exported mainly to Indonesia, Philippines, Egypt and African nations.
Rasna has roped in Bollywood actress Karishma Kapoor as the brand ambassador for Cola Cola, and is promoting the product as a "healthy drink for the masses".
