The 'Treo 600' is a wireless smart phone priced at Rs 27,499 with a palm operating system, web browsing, digital camera, e-mail and messaging along with all standard features of a mobile phone, Peter Mah, director, South Asia said.
It is targeted at enterprise users as well as the 'small office home office', he said. Treo will compete with Blackberry, which entered India with a tie-up with Bharti group's Airtel and Sony Ericsson.
PalmOne has however no plans to tie-up at this stage with any operator, Kartik Ramaswamy, India country manager, PalmOne Asia Pacific said.
The company also launched a handheld device 'Tungsten T5' with a 256 flash memory at a price of Rs 22,999.
"The 'Tungsten T5' gives mobile professionals the ability to carry more data and applications than ever before on a handheld. It doubles as a flash drive, allowing people to carry their work from the office to home and back, without carrying a laptop," Mah said.
