Idea Cellular cuts outgoing rates

Idea Cellular has reduced its outgoing rates by 33 per cent to Rs 1.99 for all calls from cell-to-cell and cell-to-landline and WLL connections under post-paid scheme, while that for pre-paid segment has been at Rs 2.49 with effect from Sunday.

Under its new tariff schemes, the company would offer STD calls at 1.99 per minute and ISD calls at Rs 15.99 per minute for post-paid customers, Idea Cellular said in a release in Mumbai on Saturday.

The new rates for pre-paid customers would be Rs 3.99 per minute for STD calls, Rs 2.99 a minute for cell-to-cell and Rs 16.99 for ISD calls, the release added.

Idea has reduced monthly rental for its post-paid customers by 23 per cent to Rs 269 and is also offering a 50 per cent reduction for calls made at night, it said.

The Pune-based company is being jointly promoted by Tata, Birla and AT&T.
