GAIL projects ready by early 2007

The 775-kilometre-long Dahej-Uran and Dabhol-Panvel gas pipeline projects, being executed by GAIL (India) at a cost of Rs 3,000 crore (Rs 30 billion), will be ready to be commissioned by early next year, according GAIL director S P  Rao. 

Speaking on the sidelines of the 5th annual Greentech conference being held in Chennai, Rao said that owing to environmental benefits and increased safety, GAIL was promoting the use of pipelines for transportation of bulk liquified petroleum gas.


At the conference, Rao received the nine Greentech Safety Awards bagged by GAIL.
