Cafe Coffee Day, a division of Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading Company Ltd, plans to open 50 outlets in the overseas markets this year, besides expanding its chain from 200 to 500 by the year 2007.

The company plans to open 50 cafes in five cities abroad in the current financial year, its director Naresh Malhotra told reporters in Kolkata on Tuesday.

He said the company is also talking to public sector oil companies for opening outlets in the premises of dispensing points in cities and along the highways.

The company, which plans to invest around Rs 25 crore (Rs 250 million) in expanding the chain each year, expects its revenue at Rs 100 crore (Rs 1 billion) by the end of the next financial year, he added.

Cafe Coffee Day on Tuesday opened its 10th outlet in Kolkata. The retail chain has opened outlets in the premises of leading IT companies like Infosys, Wipro, and other software technology parks across the country, apart from in commercial areas.
