In Chennai with her husband, she read about Prof Jhunjhunwala and RTBI (Rural Technology Business Incubator) which he has incubated. She then contacted Saloni to know how she started DesiCrew.
Richa's next meeting was with the professor, and she was nervous. After a thorough interview, he asked her to join the team and do some pilot work.
"Richa was working elsewhere on a high paying job when she met me. It was clear that she was serious. She did not know what exactly to do and she did not have any business plan to begin with. But there was no doubting her passion," the professor remarked.
Soon afterwards, she resigned from her job -- she was then working with The Times of India -- and took her first step towards being an entrepreneur as she "knew this was my calling." That was in December 2007.
