HDFC Bank [Get Quote] will soon open 300 more ATMs in the country and it has placed an order with leading global technology firm NCR.

Renewing its existing three year contract with NCR to manage its automated teller machines (ATMs), HDFC gave the order for 300 more ATMs to NCR, the technology firm said.

"This order is in line with HDFC bank's expansion strategy in India", it said. With a significant shift of customers to ATM transactions, it has become important for any bank to make them available for the customers, HDFC banking channel head Rahul Bhagat said.

The bank's contract with NCR includes ATM monitoring through incident management, cash management and other lines of maintenance.

HDFC is a leading player in the private banking sector and it has about 754 branches across India with 1,900 networked ATMs.
