Undeterred by a countrywide banking strike on Friday, the Cabinet is likely to take up next week a proposal for merger of State Bank of [Get Quote] Saurashtra with its parent State Bank of India [Get Quote], Finance Ministry sources said.
While boards of both the banks had approved the merger plan, bank employees went on one-day strike protesting the move.
