Indian telecom company Spice is all set to launch a $20 (Rs 800 approximately) 'people's cell phone' soon, according to a media report.

The company will start selling the $20 phone to Asian, African and South Amercian consumers from next month.

Company chairman Bhupendra Kumar Modi claims that the low-end phone will sell at least 10 million units.

Such low-end phones are sure to boost the Indian telecom industry, which expects the number of subscribers to grow exponentially in the coming years.

The company also suggested that the prices of the cell phone could be slashed further, and that a $10 (Rs 400 approximately) cell phone is not too far away.
