India's 10 cities with highest household incomes

Ahmedabad (Rs 328,267)

Ahmedabad is the second city from Gujarat to figure in the top 5 cities with highest average annual household income. At Rs 328,267, it ranks fifth in terms of average annual household income.

Across the twenty cities identified by the study, 70 per cent of car owners are middle class. The middle class makes up more than 60 per cent of ownership in the following: computers, ACs, washing machines and microwave ovens. The aspirant group (with incomes between $3,000 and $6,000) edges out the middle class in ownership share of TVs; DVD players; refrigerators; mobiles; and motorcycles.
