After Uttar Pradesh, Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries Ltd [Get Quote] is facing the wrath of local vegetable vendors and wholesalers in Uttarakhand for venturing into retail business.

Vegetable mandis in Uttarakhand remained closed on Tuesday, protesting what they called "invasion" of Reliance company into their daily business.

Traders under the aegis of Uttarakhand Vegetable and Trade Association submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister BC Khanduri calling for a ban on RIL's retail business.

Traders also threatened to launch a mammoth agitation if the government allowed the retail outlets in the state.

Reliance is planning to open four outlets in Dehra Dun under the banner of Reliance Fresh. It would later open few more outlets elsewhere in the state.
