Bowing to the demand of industry, Maharashtra government is likely to take a decision on abolishing the state tax octroi in next two-three months.
"We are in the final stages of taking a decision on the the issue....maybe within the next two-three months we will take a decision," Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh said on Wednesday.
"We have to consider options before taking the decision, including giving alternative source of income (to the local self-government bodies)," he said.
