The company sold 4,779 units in June this year as against 3,346 units in the corresponding month of the previous year, GM India said in a statement.
The sales comprise 1,504 units of hatchback Chevrolet Spark, 1,550 units of multi-utility vehicle Tavera, 1,227 units of Aveo/Aveo U-VA and 498 units of sedan Optra, it said.
"With ever increasing demand of the popular Chevrolet brand, GM India has been registering a consistent surge in the monthly sales," GM India Vice President P Balendran said.
The company has launched a diesel variant of its premium sedan Chevrolet Optra in June.
The company plans to grab 10 per cent market share by 2010 and for this purpose has raised the production capacity of its Halol facility to 85,000. The company is also setting up a new manufacturing facility in Talegaon in Maharashtra, which is expected to start production by next year.
