In the wake of a reported terror plot to target the company, Infosys Technologies Limited has taken all security measures to deal with any potential threat and to protect the enterprise.
"We have taken all necessary security measures to deal with any such potential threat," the Bangalore-headquartered consulting and IT services major's CEO and managing director Nandan M Nilekani told reporters in response to questions.
Nilekani, however, pointed out that such steps were an ongoing thing.
Karnataka police arrested Imran Jalal, a suspected Pakistan-trained terrorist hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, last week. They recovered, among other things, a map of the city with location of Infosys, Wipro and Bangalore airport marked on it.
Chief Minister H D Kumarasway had said soon after a police briefing then that the arrest had averted a possible terror plot to target these three places.
Asked about surveillance on the 69,432 Infosys employees, T V Mohandas Pai, chairman of the company's business process outsourcing arm said the company does background checks on lateral hiring, while it ensures that it recruits talent from best colleges.
"We take all measures we feel necessary to make sure that we protect the enterprise," Pai said.
Nilekani declined to share details of the security measures, citing them to be confidential.
