India's top three IT companies are going to recruit 90,000 more in 2008, a top Kotak Mahindra Asset Management official said in Mumbai on Wednesday.
"TCS [Get Quote], Infosys [Get Quote] and Wipro [Get Quote] would hire about 90,000 more staff in 2008," Kotak Chief Strategist Alroy Lobo said at a seminar in Mumbai.
Lobo said outsourcing to India is growing because of three factors namely cost, scale and time-to-market. Besides outsourcing, Lobo said he is bullish on construction, power, ports and logistics.
"Construction is an interesting sector. Irrespective of prices, volumes have to grow," he said. Lobo said he expects government policies to be populist in the next budget because of the impending general elections in 2009.
"Government policy would be progressive on infrastructure, rural GDP and social infrastructure," he said.
