Indian Oil Corporation [Get Quote] said on Friday it is losing Rs 10.55 per litre on sale of petrol and Rs 9.88 per litre on diesel due to a government freeze on increasing fuel prices.

The state-run retailer is also losing Rs 120 per cylinder of cooking gas and Rs 16.78 per litre in kerosene, IOC Chairman Sarthak Behuria told repoters.

The government has not allowed oil marketing companies to raise prices since September last year, although international crude prices have shot up to more than $70 a barrel.
