January 11, 2006 18:08 IST
Central trade unions on Wednesday decided to hold a nationwide demonstration on January 20 against the government's notification of 8.5 per cent EPF rate for the current fiscal.

This was decided at a joint meeting of trade unions, including AITUC, BMS, CITU, HMS and UTUC in New Delhi, a day after the notification was issued by the labour ministry.

The meeting also decided to take up the matter with Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Thursday.
