The Sensex ended 57 points lower at 9,583.

The Nifty dropped 4 points to close at 2,910.

Reliance [Get Quote] dropped 1.3% (Rs 12) to Rs 908.

Dr.Reddy's surged 4% to Rs 1,062. Ranbaxy [Get Quote] gained 2% at Rs 377, and Cipla also posted gains at Rs 443.

Tata Power [Get Quote] rallied 3.5% at Rs 463.

Wipro [Get Quote] tumbled over 3% to Rs 458. Satyam [Get Quote] slipped 2.2% at Rs 743.
While TCS [Get Quote] shed 1% at Rs 1,687, Infosys [Get Quote] ended 0.7% lower at Rs 3,032.

SBI [Get Quote] was down 2% at Rs 922. ICICI Bank [Get Quote] at Rs 588 and HDFC Bank [Get Quote] at Rs 755 also declined nearly 2% each.

Maruti [Get Quote] declined 2% at Rs 657. Hero Honda was down 1.5% at Rs 863.

Hindalco [Get Quote], Larsen & Toubro, Tata Steel [Get Quote], Gujarat Ambuja [Get Quote], HDFC, Grasim [Get Quote], HLL [Get Quote], Tata Motors [Get Quote] and ACC also ended in red.
