DaimlerChrysler India on Monday said it had crossed the 2,000 mark in sales in 2005, the first time since it started operations in India.The company sold a total of 2019 units in India and the Indian subcontinent from January till December 2005 and crossed the 2,000 mark for the first time in its 10-year operations, it said in a statement.
"Despite major setbacks from a national perspective like the Tsunami and the Mumbai floods, 2005 has been good for us and we are optimistic about the future," Wilfried G Aulbur, CEO and MD, DaimlerChrysler India said.
During this period, the company has also netted the highest-ever sales for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, E-Class and C-Class cars for India, it added, however, without giving the break-up.
