UBS AG, through its business group and legal entities, picked up 91.96 million shares, representing 10.23 per cent in Corus, as per the information available on Corus website.
In November, UBS had picked up 66.12 million shares of Corus Group, representing 7.36 per cent stake in Corus.
This group holding is made up of an aggregate holding of material interest in 86.66 million shares and non-material interest in 5.30 million shares.
The total holding of UBS would now amount to around 17.59 per cent in Corus. CSN, which has outbid Tata Steel with its offer of 515 pence per share for Corus, already holds 3.8 per cent stake.
Another adviser to CSN, Goldman Sachs Group Inc had acquired 36.06 million shares of Corus, aggregating to 4 per cent stake in November. CSN and its bankers now control about 25 per cent of Corus shares.
It has, however, been clarified in past disclosures that such acquisitions by the bankers were not in a client serving capacity.
