Inflation fell marginally to 3.01 per cent in the week ended August 27 from 3.08 per cent a week ago, despite rise in prices of food, aviation fuel and manufactured items.
The point-to-point wholesale price index based inflation fell for the sixth consecutive week to 3.01 per cent from 3.08 per cent in the previous week, mainly due to "base-year effect" as the price level was as high as 8.74 per cent a year ago.
