Aiming to combine technology with history, Reliance [Get Quote] Infocomm on Friday said it would provide a 'cyber cafe on wheels' that would give unlimited Internet and telephone connectivity for 24-days during the re-enactment of the 75th anniversary 'Dandi yatra' starting in Ahmedabad from Saturday.

Announcing this on the eve of the re-enactment of the historic walk, Reliance Infocomm president (Gujarat circle) S P Shukla said that this was for the first time in the country that non-stop mobile phone and Internet connectivity would be given for such a purpose.

"The cyber cafe on wheels has been specifically designed for this Dandi march and it will ensure seamless connectivity to all participants who would require it throughout the 385 km walk from Ahmedabad to Dandi in South Gujarat", Shukla said.

Additionally, the company will also make available all information pertaining to the Dandi march on R-world, its data application suit.

Tushar Gandhi, great grandson of Mahatma Gandhi who is one of the main organisers of the historic re-enactment said, "Gandhiji always used communication as an effective tool to reach out to the people of the country and also the world. The tie-up with Reliance is for the same purpose so that hundreds of participants, mediapersons who needs communication can avail it."
