Cisco's IP network in IIT-K
January 31, 2005 18:50 IST
Internet networking company Cisco Systems on Monday announced the expansion of its IP converged network to IIT Kharagpur.

Cisco has deployed more than 4,000 points of access connecting every student room in the hostel with high-speed converged network, a company statement said.

The network would enable the institute to deliver complete e-learning package comprising video-on-demand and multi-cast video right up to classrooms and hostel rooms, it added.

Suprabhat Chatterjee, national business development manager of Cisco Systems, India and SAARC, said that this would "enable the students to work on new world technologies that drive global communications."
