Tata Indicom slashes fixed line tariffs

Tata Indicom has slashed tariffs by 62 per cent on fixed line calls between Mumbai and Delhi to Rs 1.80 a minute from Rs 4.80 a minute earlier.
"Customers will save 62 per cent on call charges to fixed lines between Mumbai and Delhi. Calls from fixed-to-fixed lines between the two metros will now be charged at Rs 1.80 per minute as compared to Rs 4.80 per minute charged earlier," the company said in a statement.
Tata Indicom has also slashed the STD rates (inter circle) calls to fixed lines, fixed wireless and mobiles above 50 kilometres by 50 per cent to which will now be charged Rs. 2.40 per minute.
Local calls to Tata Indicom mobiles are charged uniformly at 180 seconds pulse while local calls to other mobile operators will be charged at 90 seconds pulse. The company has simplified the call charges by reducing the distance slabs and the customers will be charged only for two charging slabs, i.e. below 50 kms and above 50 kms.
These rates are applicable from October 2, 2004 for all tariff plans and will be applicable for both existing and potential customers.
