Spurred by over 30 per cent jump in India's trade with China, the bilateral exports and imports are expected to touch the $10 billion mark soon, Maharashtra Governor Mohamad Fazal said on Thursday.

"Our bilateral trade has been growing at an annual rate of 30 per cent and now the neighbour on the north accounts for four per cent of India's foreign trade," Fazal said after inaugurating the first China Guangdong Products Exhibition in Mumbai.

There is a good scope for both the countries to increase cooperation in the information technology sector. While India's software exports have touched $10 billion, China is the leader in computer hardware with total turnover of $25 billion in 2002, the governor said.

Referring to the growth registered by the Guangdong province of China, he said the exports from this province alone accounted for 35 per cent of China's total exports of $438.37 billion last year.
