IA cuts fares by 50% on some flights

Indian Airlines has cut by over 50 per cent its fares on selected destinations and announced that various promotional, round-trip or excursion fares had been extended till September end.

The airline was offering 'positioning flight fares' as low as Rs 2,195 for a one way ticket from Mumbai to Calicut as against the normal fare of Rs 5,485, an IA official said on Monday.

These fares, effective from April 1, were for those travelling on the domestic leg before the flight proceeds to an international destination, the official explained.

Similarly, the Mumbai-Goa fare would be Rs 1,500 (Rs 3,115), to Cochin Rs 2,605 (Rs 6,510), Ahmedabad-Delhi Rs 2,075 (Rs 5,180) and Ahmedabad-Hyderabad Rs 3,500 (Rs 5975).

The airline also announced that various promotional and excursion fares, which were to end on March 31, have been extended till end September, he said.
