Continuous Computing launches India unit

The United States-based Continuous Computing Corporation has established a wholly-owned subsidiary and development centre in Bangalore to cater to new product development and provide support to regional customers in India, China, Korea and Japan.

The firm, a network solutions provider for telecom equipment manufacturers, said it plans to invest over $3 million to expand its Indian operations over the next few years.

Continuous Computing chairman and CEO Ken Kalb told reporters that the company currently has an engagement with CDOT, and aims to woo more players in the telecom equipment manufacturing space "and are in discussions with many of them."

Pradeep Malhotra, managing director for Continuous Computing India Pvt Ltd, said the headcount in the subsidiary is expected to increase to 75-100 from the current 20 in the next two years.

Investors and strategic partners in the company include China Development Industrial Bank, Technology Crossover Ventures and Intel Capital Corp.
