The Bombay Stock Exchange will suspend trading in scrips of 38 companies, including Pittie Finance and Roplas India, from January 27, 2004 for failing to submit quarterly results required under the listing agreement.

There are 21 companies which failed to submit quarterly results for the quarters ending December 2002 and March 2003, while 17 companies failed to submit results for the quarters ending March and June 2003, BSE said in a release on Tuesday.

These corporates were issued showcause notices and reminders, but they failed to comply with the requirement under the listing agreement, the release said.

As a consequence, the bourse has decided to suspend trading in the securities of 38 companies from January 27, 2004 until further notice, it added.

Some of the stocks which would face suspension are Dynavox Industries, Kasat Paper & Pulp, Prudential Sugar Corporation and Som Distilleries & Breweries, it added.

Out of the 38 companies, trading in five scrips -- Aqualand India, Gwalior Sugar, Priyanka Udyog, Rutron International and Sequel Soft India -- has already been suspended for various other non-compliances, it said.
