Lagaan to help Sahara expand globally

Sahara India, one of India's biggest business houses, plans to organise a ten-day Bollywood film festival in the United Kingdom and the United States from August 31.

"During the festival, films like Mother India and Lagaan, which have an emotive value to Indians all over the world will be screened," Shailendra Singh, managing director of Percept IMC, which has entered into a joint venture with Sahara India said in London on August 26.

"There will be a celebration of Indian cinema across London, San Francisco and New York," Singh, Sahara's chief publicist said.

Sahara India, which employed 910,000 employees, is currently producing 46 feature films, including 28 independently.
