September 17, 2003 14:32 IST

Credit Rating Information Services of India Ltd has assigned corporate governance 'CG' and value-creation rating 'GVC level-1' to Infosys Technologies Ltd, indicating the highest capability to create wealth for stakeholders while adopting corporate governance practices.

The financial transparency and disclosure standards of Infosys are one of the best globally and have created a very high level of value for stakeholders over the past five years, Crisil director (corporate rating) S Venkataraman said on Wednesday.

Its shareholders' returns have been amongst the highest in the country. Also,  from a lender's perspective, the credit fundamentals are extremely sound, he said.

"The board structure, process and functioning are assessed as very strong. The board of directors comprises a majority of independent non-executive directors, including lead independent director, and has structural features like audit and compensation committees," Crisil said.

The employee satisfaction level in Infosys is much higher compared to its peers and the attrition rate is well below the average rate for IT industry, it said.
