Ranjana Kumar to be Nabard chief

Indian Bank chairperson Ranjana Kumar, who turned around the ailing PSU bank last fiscal, is slated to take over as head of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development within a week.

"The name of Rajana Kumar has been proposed and she is slated to take up the new assignment as chairperson of Nabard in a week's time," Union Minister of State for Finance Anandrao Adsul said on the sidelines of an International Conference cum Exhibition of Women Entrepreneurs in Mumbai on Friday.

The post of the Nabard chairperson has been lying vacant since the tenure of Y C Nanda ended three months back. The post of managing director is also lying vacant and would be filled within eight months.
