October 01, 2003 14:24 IST

Hero Honda Motors on Wednesday said its motorcycle sales have jumped 17.6 per cent in September to 157,583 units, which it plans to increase to over 200,000 units in this month.

The sales during April-September 2003 grew by 9 per cent to 905,243 units against 829,297 units a year ago, a company release said in New Delhi.

Hero Honda, the country's largest motorcycle maker, said it was "very bullish" about sales in the ensuing festival season, following good response to the newly-launched Passion Plus, a variant of the executive segment motorcycle Passion.

The September sales was higher by 8.1 per cent as compared to 145,730 motorcycles sold in August.

Hero Honda also produces motorcycles like Splendor, Ambition, CD-Dawn, CD100, CD100SS, CBZ and the Karizma.
