Aided by growth across all segments, Bajaj Auto Ltd has recorded its highest ever sales of 107,115 motorcyles in October 2003, a 29.2 per cent increase over the same month last year.

In the executive segment, the Caliber 115 and Wind 125 together accounted for 30,746 units, up by 137 per cent compared to last year's October sales of 12,999 units, while in the premium segment the Pulsar twins recorded a 70 per cent rise in sales to 31,321 units over last year's 18,413 units, the company said in a release in Mumbai on Saturday.

Exports for the last month showed a 4.6 per cent rise with 13,360 units, including 6,500 three-wheelers, compared to 12,768 units a year ago. In April-October period, exports showed a 56 per cent growth at 82,965 units over the corresponding period last year.

Sales of three wheelers were up marginally at 20,834 units, including 1,856 units of the higher payload goods carrier Bajaj GC 1000, as against 20,676 units last year due to production capacity limitations on account of Diwali break, the release said.

During the seven-month period ending October, motorcycle segment has grown at 20.6 per cent, ahead of 13.2 per cent growth of the industry, the company said, adding the capacity of the executive and premium models was being expanded in anticipation of the total sales of 125,000 units per month from March next year.
