Bayer India on Thursday announced the appointment of Stephan Gerlich as its new managing director.

Gerlich succeeds Dieter Kaunbeck who retires on June 30, 2003 after completing his tenure in India, a company release said.

Gerlich was vice president of DyStar LP Charlotte, North Carolina (US), before heading Indian operations.
