Rahul Bajaj appointed chairman of IIT Bombay

Eminent industrialist and chairman and managing director of Bajaj Auto Ltd, Rahul Bajaj has been appointed as chairman of the board of directors of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

The appointment is for a period of three years since May 12 and Bajaj took over from M G K Menon who was the chairman since 1997, an IIT release said on Friday.

The chairman of the IIT Bombay is nominated by the president of India, in his capacity as the visitor of the Institute, the release added.
