The United States-based Arcot Systems Inc on Thursday launched its research and development centre in Bangalore to create leading-edge and mission-critical software solutions to its clients across the globe.
The tech centre in Bangalore has started off with 30 engineers, an Arcot Systems press release said, quoting Ram Vardarajan, the president and CEO of the company.
The California-based firm is a leading provider of secure e-payment and identity solutions for financial services, healthcare and security-conscious enterprise environments.
"Arcot is augmenting its research and development activities and by the addition of this facility in Bangalore, it hopes to achieve a 100 per cent growth in the coming year," the release said.
Varadarajan declined to furnish revenues of the company, saying that it was a privately-held firm. Oracle Corporation, Goldman Sachs, Novell and Visa International are among the investors in Arcot.
He said the company was in talks with many banks in India regarding the deployment of its Internet-based software, adding an announcement regarding the tie-up with one of them was expected in the next few weeks.
Arcot focused on developing original solutions to address the challenges of securing e-business applications in Internet-scale and transactional environments, he explained.
It provides authentication and access control solutions to secure the integrity of e-business in Internet-scale and wireless environments, he added.
