TCS largest software exporter in 2001-02

Tata Consultancy Services, with exports worth $806.1 million is the largest software exporter during 2001-02, while Celetron India led the race in exports of computer hardware.

As per the latest rankings by Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council, TCS was followed by Wipro Ltd ($536.3 million) and Infosys ($534.5 million dollars).

In the 'Leading Software Exporters' section, Satyam Computer was ranked fourth with its exports in this segment at $356 million during 2001-02, while HCL Technologies' exports stood at $293.5 million.

In the computer hardware segment, Celetron India with $192.9 million led the rankings, while Cortech Systems India with exports of $3.8 million was ranked second.

The third, fourth and fifth slots in this sector, went to Tata Infotech, Tyco Electronics and Compaq Computer respectively.
