TO DRINK OR NOT TO DRINK… August 21, the government said soft drinks sold by Coca-Cola and Pepsi were safe and did not include high levels of pesticides.

The Centre for Science and Environment, a Delhi-based NGO, dropped a bombshell on August 5, claiming that soft drinks contained residues of extremely toxic pesticides.

With that the soft drink world went into a tizzy. Protests were triggered off and cola sales plummeted…

The government's clean chit has come as a major relief to the cola-makers. But will sales pick up again?
